Colours

It’s a glorious day out this morning, and while the others are still sleeping I have decided to put a post on here. See how it works. You’ll also get your first insight into us…

So last night I spilt the beans on this website that I’ve been building alone. I was, a little nervous to tell them what I’ve been doing as even tho they have all said ok to me doing something to share our lives with others, I know some of them aren’t 100%.

I didn’t get the responses I expected at all.

I had braced myself for name calling, deffo arguments and possibly some altercations but it didn’t happen. Actually, that’s a lie; the arguments did happen but not because I’d built the website foundations so we could spill our guts…

We argued over the colours of our pages; the ones assigned to each of us.

For someone on the outside this might seem ridiculous, but I’m just not surprised anymore.

When I told them I’d made us each a page for us to share ourselves - the more intricate parts – eyes lit up. Everyone crowded around me and the group laptop to get a peek. That’s when it started.

“I want mine blue!”

“Nah blue is so my colour, have pink.”

“You can’t have it all black nobody will see anything!”

“Say that again and you’ll be having shit brown as your colour!”

Yeah.

Nobody’s page got coloured cos we sat around the fire arguing over that. People have a deep connection to colours and what their favourites are. There’s always meaning behind it. I couldn’t force others to have a colour, and we’re a stubborn bunch, so we had to work together for a solution.

And that’s when James and his geeky interests saved us.

“What about we choose our colours based on what type of Pokémon we’d be?”

I can’t describe the excitement that ran through the others (and me can’t lie) – it was like watching young kids being told they can pick any toy they want.

We found ourselves a quiz to do online to find out what Pokémon type we’d be and the results are this:

Alvarez/Phin – fighting type – brown and crimson

Luno/James – dragon/grass – dark blue and green

Alabaster/Seren – psychic – peachy purple/pink

Emo Boy/Poole – dark – black and dark grey

Sparky/Aiden – ghost – grey blue

Icarus/Spencer – fire/flying – orange and light blue

Tazer Girl/Kaya – electric - yellow

Flux/Matt – poison - purple

Polar Frost/Ben – ice/water – bright blue and icy blue?

There are still some grumbles about the colours some of us have, but we all made a pact to stick to what we have – at least for now – and see where we go.

Looks like I am having shit brown after all -_-
